Explore Slovenia’s breathtaking landscapes on horseback – from alpine lakes to the historic Lipica Stud Farm. Immerse yourself in the magic of Slovenia’s natural beauty, rich equestrian heritage, and charming medieval towns.

 

DAY 1:  BLED – RADOVLJICA – BLED

 

Welcome to Bled!
Begin your journey with a scenic ride around the fairy-tale Lake Bled, known for its crystal-clear waters and stunning surroundings. Hop on a traditional fijaker (horse-drawn carriage) to explore the area. After lunch and a slice of the world-famous Bled cream cake, we’ll head to the stables for your first 3-hour ride through the lush Bled countryside. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Slovenian dinner in the medieval town of Radovljica, followed by a visit to the Gingerbread Museum, where you’ll learn about Slovenia’s famous honey-bread craft. Overnight in Bled.

 

DAY2: BLED

 

Horseback Riding & Legendary Bled Island
After breakfast, saddle up for another 3-hour ride through the enchanting Bled region. In the afternoon, discover the magical Lake Bled. Take a traditional Pletna boat to Bled Island, home to the Assumption of Mary Church. Legend has it that ringing the church bell will grant your wish. Continue your day with a visit to Vintgar Gorge, a beautiful natural wonder with wooden bridges over crystal-clear waters. In the evening, visit Bled Castle for panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains, followed by a traditional Slovenian dinner. Overnight in Bled or Pokljuka.

 

DAY 3: BLED – BOHINJ - POKLJUKA

 

Exploring the Heart of the Julian Alps
After your final morning ride in the Bled region, we’ll drive to
Bled Castle, the oldest castle in Slovenia, with panoramic views over Lake Bled and the surrounding mountains and then continue  our journey true Lake Bohinj into the heart of Triglav National Park, nestled in the Julian Alps. Optional: Join a guided mushrooming tour with Dr. Fungi, where you’ll explore the local traditions and medicinal mushrooms, adding a cultural touch to your adventure. Overnight in a cozy mountain chalet in Triglav National Park, and enjoy a relaxed evening with a light-hearted celebration. Overnight in Pokljuka.

 

DAY 4: POKLJUKA – GREEN KARST

 

Riding Through Slovenia’s Green Karst
After a traditional Slovenian breakfast, we’ll embark on a journey to the Green Karst region, known for its lush natural landscapes. In the afternoon, saddle up for a 5-hour horseback ride through stunning forests and hills. The terrain offers incredible views of Slovenia’s untouched countryside. After your ride, enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay in this enchanting region.

 

DAY 5: GREEN KARST   - LIPICA

 

Meet Lipizzaner Horses & Karst Landscape
Today, we continue our adventure with a scenic ride through the Green Karst, riding along picturesque paths and forest trails. After a 5-hour ride, we’ll drive to Lipica, home to the famous Lipizzaner horses. Upon arrival, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel Maestoso, located in the heart of Lipica’s stunning estate. Overnight at Hotel Maestoso.

 

DAY 6: LIPICA

 

A Day Dedicated to the Lipizzaner Horses
Today, we’ll spend the day at the renowned Lipica Stud Farm. Watch in awe as the Lipizzaners perform their elegant classical dressage routines, showcasing their incredible grace and noble character. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to ride these iconic horses through the beautiful Karst landscape. (optional)

For those interested to experience something more, an optional truffle hunting and wine tasting experience awaits in the nearby Koper region. Overnight at Hotel Maestoso.

 

DAY 7: LIPICA – POSTOJNA CAVE – PREDJAMA CADSTLE – LJUBLJANA

 

Exploring Slovenia’s Karst Wonders
After breakfast, we’ll head to the awe-inspiring Postojna Cave, a natural marvel filled with vast underground chambers and impressive stalactites. Following your cave tour, we’ll visit the medieval Predjama Castle, dramatically built into the side of a cliff. In the evening, we’ll return to Ljubljana for a charming walk through the Old Town and a farewell dinner. Overnight in Ljubljana.

 

DAY 8: LJUBLJANA - DEPARTURE

 

Farewell to Slovenia
Enjoy your final morning in Ljubljana with free time to explore this charming capital city. Visit Ljubljana Castle, stroll through the vibrant market, or relax by the picturesque river. Transfer to Ljubljana Airport for your departure, or continue your journey through Slovenia or Croatia.
